Research has shown that we talk to our self, about our-self, about 50.000 times a day. That about 80% is NEGATIVE, I'll always late, I'll never lose weight, I should not have said that...etc. etc. (Zig Zigar said that it is OK to talk to yourself but we have a problem when we start saying Hun.)
We know that our thoughts are a very powerfully force in our life. They affect our ATTITUDE, our PHYSIOLGY as well as MOTIVATE us to act. They can stop us from moving, or help us climb the highest mountain.
There is this story of a young strong healthy man, that work for the railroad. Some how he was accidentally lock up in a refrigerator car over night. He knew that the operational temperature for this type of car was about zero and if he could not get out he would freeze to death.
He took out his knife and carved into the wooden floor, "It's so cold body getting numb, I could just go to sleep." That was his last words. The next day, when they open the big door they found this man dead. His hands were bloody from banging on the door. The cause of death was that he had frozen.
The refrigerator car was in for repairs, it did not work, the temperature when they open the door was about 55 degrees. The man had killed himself by the power of his own thoughts.
Your NEGATIVE self talk, may not kill you as fast as it did this man, but slowly over time it will kill your DREAMS. They will weakening you, make you lose sleep and have other NEGATIVE effects on your body.
On the other hand, POSITIVE SELF TALK, will help your body to make endorphins, that will reduce pain and increase PLEASURE.
James Allen said, "You are today where your thoughts have brought you; you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you."
Now would be a good time to change your negative thoughts for POSITIVESONES, your limitation one for UNLIMITED POSSIBILITY. Move from being a loser to a WINNER. Turn you negative critic into a COACH that will ENCOURAGE YOU.
STOMP THOSE ANTS
Dr. Amen, has named these negative limited thought or self talks as A.N.Ts. - Automatics Negative Thoughts. He says that, like real ants that show up at your picnic and ruin it, your negative self talks shows up to ruin your picnic also.
His said that, first you must become aware of them, then you must shake them off and and stomp them, (by challenging them). Then you must replace them with POSITIVE ONES.
