MONEY IS THE CELEBRATION OF SUCCESS
When we look at MONEY as a measurement of our success, then it follows that if I am MORE SUCCESSFUL then you (I make more MONEY). Then I should live in a bigger house, drive a better car, eat at better place, etc etc, then you and for that matter everyone that make less MONEY then me.
Here the problem with that thinking by most people, when you see Donald Trump in a limousine, he is more then likely taking on the phone, working with other people or going over paper work, and sometime all at the same time. He is working. Now think of some of the other people you may have seen in a limousine. WHAT DO YOU THINK they were doing? That was another one of my trick questions. Why do you think that they have liquor in most limousines?
How may people have you seen in the last few days driving, talking on the phone, looking at papers, eating, etc (mufti-tasking) that you wished they were in a limousine. How many time do you wish you had one? There are so many accidents cause because of people talking or text-in on their cell phone that most state or towns have laws prohibit the use of cell phone by drivers.
Here is something to think about, with the internet, fax,cell phone, email, satellite TV etc, etc, we are more connected to the world then people were 10 years ago. We have more information, can get more information, can communicate with more people faster then ever before and we are making more MONEY that our parents did in the best years of their lives. BUT WE STILL CAN NOT CHANGE ONE THING....WE STILL HAVE ONLY 24 HOURS IN THE DAY.
As a working person, if I drove you to work and back and both ways save you half hour or more every day do you think that you could find some work to do doing that ride? Now if you were a basketball player and I drove you to work and home, I don't care if it was 2 hours each way how much work do you think you could get done in the car (forget a limousine) during the trip?
The point here is that for some the limousine is to be used for work and for other it is a TOY. The D does not own a boat a BIG PLANE YES, a boat NO.
It has been said that it is not how much you make that counts but how much you keep, I would like to say it more of what you do with what you keep that counts.
Let me put it to you this way: to make $30.000. a year, if you made $10.00 per hr you would have to work 60 hrs per week (no over time pay) or 40 hr if your pay was $15.00 and 30 hrs if it was $20.00. Now we live next door to each other and you are making $20.00 hr on salary some times you work more then 40 hr and some time less and I am making $15.00, I do not get any over time pay, but I can work all the hours I want at $15.00.
Now almost every Saturday, you see me get in my car with the wife and kids and leave for the day. You are out side cutting the grass cleaning the pool washing the car and the little woman is in side doing washing, cleaning the toilet and other thing around the house .
Now you work at the same place as me and you know that I only work a few more hours during the week and never on weekend or holidays, my pool is clean, my older car is washed, you see us with clean cloths and you been inside my house and it to is clean. You send me post cards from all the great place you and the family have gone to 2 time a year over the last 10 years, and I have even gotten a few cars from you since I gave you more then the dealer would, when you buy the new one.
Lets look at this from my side of the fence, I pay a guy to cut my grass and keep the yard look great $100.00 per month, the guy to clean the pool $80.00 the lady down the street $125.00 to wash the cloths and clean the house, and my kids get $20.00 to keep the cars clean.
That's $325.00 I found that if I worked 2 hr per day I would make 150.00 x 4 weeks is $600.00=$325.00 give me $270.00 to do with as I want, plus I do not have to cut the grass, clean the pool and the little woman does not have to do any cleaning or washing. Because of this she has pickup a part time job and we have the weekends free.
I make the kids put half of all the MONEY they make in the bank then some into a IRA, the wife and I both have IRA's I put $50.00 MORE per week (she put in a little less) plus any other MONEY THAT I FEEL WE DO NOT NEED TO LIVE OFF goes into all three accounts.
I only buy used cars (mostly from you since I know that you keep them in good sharp). I make payments on my mortgage every two weeks therefore making one ex payment per year that goes to the loan. I plan my vacations a year ahead of time, and I work a few ex hours per week to pay for it.
Are you starting to see how the other COLADA'S on MONEY are at work here? I gave up 2 hrs a day (only 1 from the home because I work during my lunch hour) that's 20 hrs per month for $270.00 I gave up 20 hrs of not eating for $325.00, I get to put $200.00 a month MORE in my IRA. I have a happy wife, weekends with my wife and kids and $70.00 for other things...all this for only 20 hrs a month.
I am not trying or asking that you get into any business with me or anyone else, but now you can see why some people go into business for them self to make a little more MONEY...LOOK AT WHAT JUST $600.00 more a month could do. LET ME MAKE THIS CLEAR HERE AND NOW COLADA NOW IS NOT LOOKING FOR ANY MONEY OR PEOPLE TO HELP IN ANY WHY.
I will be going over other items (like making payment every two weeks, to show and give you some ideas that have worked for other people on this journey that we are all on though called life. You will use what you need and ignore the rest, don't forget them just ignore them, you may find them of helpful later in life.
