MONEY 102

Money is something you have to make in case you don't die!

Did you know that MONEY was needed to pay for the WAR that started this GREAT COUNTY? That Most of schools of Higher Learning (like Harvard, the 1st one) was build not by the government but someone with MONEY? How about the car you drive or house you live in, the store, air place,TV, and most of the things you use or enjoy. They all were made possible by 1st the idea and then MONEY to bring the idea to form?

Have you ever hear the term, Protestant Work Ethics? How about DON'T BE A PURITAN? If you have, what you may not know is that they are one in the same. What I mean is that back when this County was beginning you had only 2 groups of people Catholic and Protestant, the big different from us and the rest of the world at that time, and for the most part now is that we allow many different sub groups under both to live and worship without being put in jail.

Now the Puritan (they were the protestants) had some idea that some people did not like: ie hot sex (only in marries), That GOD put you here to MAKE MONEY and it was your DUTY to do so. (they had other and this is not saying that other people or group did not share the same ideas.)

This way of life and thinking build this County also Harvard, and they were the moves and shakers of the day. Then at some point in time they were no longer the majority, and in keeping with their ideas, they worked harder and longer then most of the other people around them, and the term Protestant Work Ethics was coined.

The Puritan always had this work ethics, that was one of the thing they believed in. (The best that I came up with for Don't be a Puritan, had to do with the sex part, in that with some of the others it was OK to have sex outside of marries, something that they did not believe in.)

A look at some of the founding fathers and other people during this time and you find that many had money. Ben Franklin was born in Boston, work for his bother (family did not have any money) moved and became very rich in his life time. George Washington was not doing to bad when it came to money nor was Thomas Jefferson or the 1st father and son Presidents of this Country John Adams and his son John Quincy Adams.

Now if you move to about 1859 this county only had 3 millionaires, and around 1957 we had one million millionaires. In 1980 there were 1.5 million millionaires and the thinking is by 2020 the number will be 50 million millionaires. I have two questions for you. The first one is would you like to be one of them? The next one: Do you have a plan are are you working it to become a millionaire?

As you think about the two questions, keep in mind that some started with nothing, like Andrew Carnegie (US STEEL to became the riches man in the world). How about J.D. Rockefeller or Henry Ford and J.C. Penny they also started with nothing and became millionaires in their live times.

Now this is not to get into what they did with their money but I will said this Carnegie gave away over 100.000.000 and Rockefeller ½ BILLION DOLLARS (this money went to schools, hospital, and other places) and both live a long healthy live.

I am not saying that how some people got their MONEY was not because they were crooks or drug dealers or by cheating people out of their hard earn money, or that some rich people are not arranger sob, but more offend then not they were that way before they got any MONEY. Keeping in mind that some people are going to be that way no matter what.

In MONEY 101, I said that the way you think about MONEY was a VALUE or your way of thinking, spending/saving MONEY. That you would defend this VALUE (right or wrong) for the most part until you die.

Let me try and show you what I mean by this: what is the sharp and color of a stop sign? If you said 8 sides and red with white letter you were right. Now what is the sharp and color of a yield sign? Once again if you had said 3 sides and yellow, you would be wrong, they are 3 sides and red and have been for about 20 years. The point is that when you go out you will be looking for the yellow one to send me a email telling me I was wrong.

Us baby boomers were born at the right time after the BIG ONE was over, the TV, Computer, Cell Phone, Internet and other things to make work/play better faster all came into play, therefore have most of us making more money then our parents with less work. The problem is that we became a nation of spenders not savers.

Look back over the COLADA titled E+R=O, the EVENT is that you are getting older, and unless you CHANGE THE R, will you be HAPPY with the OUTCOME?

Charles J. Givens, the author of the book Wealth without Risk, put it this way:"Doing more of what doesn't work won't make it any better."
