DON'T BE AS DUMB AS A ELEPHANT.

When we have a baby elephants and we want to control them we tie their leg with a big rope to a pole deep in the ground. This pole plus the length of the rope will let us control the area that the elephant can move in.

The elephant being young and dumb will try to move out of this area, but since we have put the pole deep in the ground and the rope is very strong. Try as he may, the elephant can not leave this area.

We will move the pole and elephant to a different area but since will have full control over how deep the pole is and how strong the rope is the elephant can not move out of this area also.

Now to make sure that we have full control over the elephant we will put food and water in the area. This way the elephant does not have any reason to move out of the area.

Since the rope is very strong, the pole is deep and the elephant has food and water, this area will become his COMFORT ZONE.

Now, fast forward 10 years. This is no longer a baby elephant but a BIG` HUGE elephant that is getting bigger everyday. He could easily break the rope or pull the pole out of the ground, but he will not even try.

Why you ask? Because he has learn as a young elephant that he can not break the rope or pull the pole out of the ground. In fact some elephants have learn that you can only go so far this way or that because of the rope and pole that a small rope on the leg without the pole will keep them in the comfort zone.

Does this elephant remind you of someone, maybe you? Are you trapped in your comfort zone by some small rope made up of a limiting beliefs tied to your leg by your trainers when you were young?

Is your zone made up of a collection of you can't do this or you have to do that and you must do this and other negative ideas or negative images about you.

Are your guilt's, self doubt and other inaccurate beliefs, stopping you from moving out of that COMFORT ZONE?

The GOOD NEWS is that YOU ARE NOT A ELEPHANT. YOU CAN READ, and therefore CHANGE YOUR COMFORT ZONE.

I know that for some people CHANGE is a bad word. Robert Allen put the why nicely when he said: "Everything you want is just outside your comfort zone."

You have to replace your negative beliefs, thoughts and self image with new positive ones. Also stop speaking the same negative words and doing the same negative things. You have to CHANGE YOUR BEHAVIOR.

IF YOU DO NOT STOP RE-CREATING THE SAME EXPERIENCE OVER AND OVER AND OVER YOU WILL KEEP LIVING IN THE OLD COMFORT ZONE.

William James a Harvard psychologist wrote "The Greatest revolution of our generation is the discovery that human beings, by changing the inner attitudes of their minds, can change the outer aspect of their lives."
