Spring 2012

Message from the President

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and new year. We are now in full planning mode for our biggest and most important M Club event of the year ... the Reverse Raffle and Silent Auction! This will be our fourth year for this event, and it has proven to be a wonderful evening of getting together with old friends, sharing stories from the past and raising money for Mount Union's athletic teams. This year, the Reverse Raffle will be held on Saturday, March 31 at Skyland Pines in Canton, OH.

The Reverse Raffle, member dues, the golf outing and individual donations help fund many additional items for Mount Union athletic teams.

As always, we are looking for additional input and participation. Please reach out to Matt and Liz Johnson(mattandlizzy@sbcglobal.net) or me directly (wborcher@us.ibm.com) with feedback or suggestions. We also hold regular M Club meetings in which dates and times can be found online. Our next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 15.

We look forward to hearing from you and most importantly, seeing you on March 31 at the Reverse Raffle.

Sincerely,

Bill Borchert '98

M Club President

Hall of Fame Nominations Being Accepted for 2012 Induction

Each year, Mount Union honors a select group of former student-athletes, coaches and athletic supporters with induction into the M Club Hall of Fame. The 2012 induction ceremony is slated for Saturday, October 27.

Nominations for the 2012 class are now being accepted, but keep in mind that in order for someone to be selected for the Hall of Fame, he or she must be nominated by a M Club member! Nominees must have graduated in 1997 or before.

We have been able to accomplish much, but with your gift, we can support Mount Union athletics even more! There are two ways you can show your support - Membership Gifts and Reverse Raffle and Silent Auction.

Membership Gifts

M Club membership gifts enhance the Club's ability to provide support to the current athletic programs at the University as well as continue to fund the functions of the Club such as the M Club Induction Ceremony. Gift levels are designed to promote enthusiasm and financial support for Raider athletics at a level you are comfortable with - any amount is welcome!

White Raiders Club

$50-$249

Grey Raider Club $250-$999

Purple Raider Club

$1000+

Last fiscal year (July 1 - June 30), M Club provided funding for the women's basketball team to host a 2011 Thanksgiving Shootout Tournament, purchased new warm-ups for the men's soccer team, purchased additional new mats for the wrestling program, donated $5,000 to the Dan Gorman Sophomore Prize, assisted with facility signage and contributed to the Mount Union Stadium turf project. This was all made possible through your generous membership gifts! Please consider supporting at a level that works for you if you haven't already done so this year.
