Rally for Public Education: March 1
The Berkeley Federation of Teachers (BFT)
and the Berkeley Council of Classified Employees ask BUSD parents, students and staff members to participate in the March 1st Day of Action in Berkeley, part of a statewide call to action. Marches from several schools to downtown Berkeley are being organized to arrive in time for a 4:30 p.m. rally on the steps of the BUSD Administration Building at 2134 MLK Jr. Way.
Teachers, classified staff, board members and the Superintendent will be standing and speaking together to advocate adequate funding for public education and human services at the state level. It is important that we stand as one to advocate for a bright future for our children and students. Speakers will feature students from all levels, and colorful and creative signs are encouraged. For more information visit the BFT website next week or call 549-2307, or contact the Berkeley Council of Classified Employees at 540-5002.
