One of the hallmarks of our school district is your involvement - committed staff, parents and community members who care deeply about Berkeley's children and youth and know the value of a great public education. The A+ eNews comes out every two weeks and is chalk full of opportunities to participate. We hope you will continue to look to the A+ eNews to stay connected and choose to participate in the important work of continually improving our schools. Superintendent Huyett to Retire - Board authorizes hiring firm for search
In early December, Superintendent Huyett announced his plans to retire in June, 2012. Read more... At the Board Meeting on January 5th the School Board discussed the search process for a new superintendent. The first step taken by the Board was to authorize an official RFP to initiate the hire of a search firm. The selected firm will work with the Berkeley community to determine the desired skill set needed in a new superintendent and lead a nation wide search to find Superintendent Huyett's replacement. A webpage will be set up to allow the community to follow developments in the process and the A+ eNews will run regular updates. |
