Interior Monologues: Views from the Artist's Mind

Deadline Extended to June 8th!

Every year we wow our patrons with the incredible work of our talented member artists.  Once again, we invite you to participate in PVAC's annual members' 2012 collective exhibit: Interior Monologues: Views from the Artist's Mind. This year we ask that you create work that expresses how you think and feel on a given day. Use your skills to convey your emotion through color, shape and form. Download all the information you need here!  Can't get your form back by Friday?  You can still enter, but your name might not appear on the postcard.  We would still love to have you in the exhibit.

Volunteer Spotlight

"Your time is the most valuable gift you can give."

After just joining the PVAC Gallery Committee at the end of 2011, Arlene agreed to co-curate The Art of the Rydell Fellowship 2006-2009 that took place in January and February of 2012.  Together with Helene Woolsey, co-curator, and working with Judy Stabile as their mentor, an exciting and successful exhibit was produced.

Arlene had been "coming to PVAC exhibits for years." She brings a wealth of experience to us, including serving on the board of the Santa Cruz Cultural Council for seven years.  Now, motivated by our mission statement "bringing the community together through the arts" as well as by the other enthusiastic and energetic Gallery Committee members, Arlene is an active and dedicated volunteer. Thank you Arlene!

Exhibit Dates:  May 3 - June 17

This beautiful exhibit was curated by Hedwig Heerschop, and juried by Ted Orland, Janet Fine, and Brian Taylor.  You will see seventeen different photographic/printing processes from over fifty artists from across the United States.  "The artists have created one-of-kind prints, which cannot be achieved digitally, that reflect the unique vision of the artist as both photographer and alchemist." Hedwig compiled a companion catalog that PVAC has published which includes all of the imagery, as well as descriptions of the processes employed by the artists.  The catalog is available for purchase at PVAC.  Thank you Hedwig!
