Most people make the mistake of focusing goals on what they do not want, thinking it is really what they do want. For example: You say, "I want to reduce my weight by June." Good goal. Yet your outcome is based on the a set reduction and then anything less than that will be a let down and does guarantee you will not be putting it back on.
Let's try a a Holistic Happiness goal for achieving optimum weight. "I intend to exercise 45 minutes daily, control my food, coffee and alcohol intake an spend more time outdoors this year in nature."
Do you see the difference? What you focus on expands, so the second goal has a lot more positive outcomes in many other areas of your life! Instead of "losing" twenty pounds as your focused outcome you are "gaining" a lifestyle that supports maintaining your ideal body and healthier eating as two of the multitude of benefits.
