Hello from 4 D Acres Everything Emu

The Miami County Farm Tour for 2012 is now history and we would like to thank all of you that were able to stop by that weekend to see us.  We truly enjoy hosting each of you and educating you about our emu and chicken operation.

emu chicks - 1 month old
Emu chicks enjoying the outdoors

When the farm tour was over the little emu chicks that were on display were moved to the brooder barn.  They are now able to get outside and run, jump and roll in their first grow out pen.  They will stay in this facility until they are 4 - 5 months old then we will move them into a larger pasture pen being built for them as this is being written.

The final group of eggs are due to hatch this weekend. I am ready to turn off the incubator, clean it along with the hatcher and put things away until the next hatching season.

The chicken chicks arrived the first week of May and are growing like weeds.  They will be going to the processor in about a two weeks.

We have a few frozen whole fryers (chickens) available for sale now.

Let me tell you, there is nothing better than a farm raised chicken to make your taste buds happy. Mike slowly smoked three of them on the grill over the holiday weekend - oh, so delicious!   We didn't/couldn't eat all three that day, so the leftovers we used in casseroles, fresh salads and even made a chicken salad sandwich or two. Yum-Yum-Yummy!

We have a new breeder pair here at 4 D Acres.  Mike and son David traveled on the evening of May 23rd to near Emporia to pick up a pair of emu from a gentleman whose health was not allowing him to keep up with the work of his livestock operation.  Drum roll please... let me intrudece Mr. & Mrs Dufus.  They arrived and were off loaded from the trailer into their new pen.  Both seem to adjust fine to their new home and quickly assimilated with their neighbors in our breeder operation.  We are pleased to have Mr. & Mrs. Dufus as part of our emu operation.

June Special - ULTRA (tm) Emu Oil

ULTRA Emu Oil
ULTRA Emu Oil 45% more effective for pain
4 D Acres is now offering ULTRA(tm) Emu Oil to it's emu oil for the retail Market!

ULTRA(tm) Emu Oil has been proven to increase the anti-inflammatory activity by 45%.

ULTRA(tm)Emu oil has been processed through a patent pending process which removes anti-inflammatory inhibitors which has shown to reduce swelling more effectively than unprocessed emu oil. This finding has moved ULTRA(tm) Emu Oil into a new category for cosmetic and pharmaceutical applications.

Ingredients: ULTRA(tm) Emu Oil, Tocopherol (all natural vitamin E)

I just picked up the (Ultra) Emu Oil from the post office today. It's a good thing as I was attacked by a very scared cat. I was scratched, bruised and have some pretty deep punctures on my arms. (The cat's OK just scared by some noise outside) It was 45 minutes after I was scratched and my arms were inflamed and burning when I finally opened my mail and put the (Ultra) emu oil on my arms. Instant relief! While the spots are still sensitive there is no more burning and the swelling has gone down. Now I was ready to use it for the reason I ordered it...I put some on my back where I suffer from daily inflammation due to an old injury. Four hours later and I have only felt a little bit of discomfort in my lower back. Now I am looking forward to getting a good nights sleep without the pain. I'm looking forward to continued use...
