Hello from 4 D Acres Everything Emu
We would like to thank all who have seen us directly and commented on our weight loss. Between us we have lost 100 pounds and a lot of you have asked how we have done it. Both of us use the website www.myfitnesspal.com and have applications on our phones so information can be entered while at resturants, etc. This website tracks the food we consume and the pounds we lose as we progress. It displays the calories, sugar, carbs, salt, etc for each of the foods consumed and has a lot of the resturant foods already figured for the consumer. It even allows personal recipes to be entered thus giving the information per serving. We find this to be a doable thing - not a diet but a lifestyle change.
October was a very busy month. In addition to the Fall Farm Tour, we also hosted 3 senior groups who had scheduled tours. One thing that we enjoy doing is to give people a tour of the farm, these are done by appointment. Also we were vistited by a small film crew working on a documentary about local farms.
We took a few days from the farm on a trip to Tennessee to the oil refinery we use, visiting with old friends and getting some business taken care of. Spending a night in Nashville with a visit to Tootsies and some of the other entertainment sights, dinner along the Cumberland River then off to Memphis for some BBQ. Finally a stop in Nixa MO to visit with the company that make the labels for the 4 D Acres products.
In addition, 200 chickens were also processed this past month.
It is a great time to give thanks for the friends and family we have and to ask God to bless all of us and our country. Everyone here at 4 D Acres wish each of you a Happy Thanksgiving.
