Hello from 4 D Acres

March was a busy month.  It began with Mike going to Washington DC with Farm Bureau to meet with our congressmen and senators on issues that affect the agricultural side of our business.

Upon his return home we were able to spend a few days working on the farm.  The incubators were loaded with eggs for our spring hatch, then Mike was off to Lincoln NE and Salina KS for a Farm Show and Lawn and Garden Show. to take care of our customers in those communities.  When he returned we did a show in Independence MO and left for a week in California traveling with families across the state who had also won this trip as Farm Families of the Year, a Farm Bureau contest.  Flying into Los Angeles we spent some time one of Mike's daughters and her family.  Boarding a bus we worked our way up the coast to San Francisco, visiting farms along the way.  In San Francisco we enjoyed a meal and time with Mike's oldest son and two daughters and their families.   It was great to get away and even better to be able to visit the children and grandchildren.  Wow, how those grandchildren have grown.  Back home for a show in Shawnee and back to work - Overland Park Farmers Market starts April 9 - great to get away but good to be home.

We would like to thank you, our customer for supporting us, telling your friends, relatives, and co-workers about 4 D Acres.

We have a new arrival at 4 D Acres.  It is a two year old female named - Thunder.  The quarantine period is over and she is in the pen next to our pet emu, Barney.  If you recall we tried to pair up Barney with a female named Betty but she took up with Oscar instead.  While Betty & Oscar will not lay any eggs this year we are looking forward to next fall when the breeding season starts again.  The incubators were loaded last month and if mother nature co-operates we will have baby emu chicks in time for the farm tour.

With this month's special we celebrate your pets and the care you provide for them.
