Hello from 4 D Acres
First we would like to wish each and every one of you a very Blessed and Merry Christmas.
Last month was very busy but we have the heaters in the pens to keep the water open so the emus have plenty to drink this winter.
Thanksgiving was great and we spent it with Dee's family. Turkey and ham and all the traditional side dishes along with visiting family made for a very enjoyable day.
Mike's father passed away the day before Thanksgiving and we are thankful that he is in a better place with God, whom he so loved. He enjoyed his 88 years here on earth, with his last 4 spent on the emu farm with us.
An update on Barney and Betty. Well, when we placed Barney and Betty in the same pen they did not get along well. So we removed Barney and turned in Oscar. We are happy to report that Betty and Oscar are getting along but have not shown signs of mating. Time will tell. Better luck next year, Barney!
As far as the other breeders - some of them are now laying eggs. It won't be long before all the breeders are laying.
