The local newspaper came out to the farm in mid-October and took this picture for an article on the fall farm tour.  They called with little time left to go to print so you can see Mike was dressed to go to a meeting in town and Dee (not in picture) was in the process of doing chores.

 

We have been busy as usual with projects.  Our new septic system was completed in early October but it was just last week before the contractor could get back to do the final grading.  We have had more than our fair share of rain this year.  Our neighbors are still in harvest.  We did have our fist snow in mid November but it was just a skif - more to the north of us.

 

Our birds still have not started to lay any eggs.  As I write this it is the evening of November 30 - guess they will be a little late.  We are seeing them breed so they are active in that area, we will just have to be patient and wait on Mother Nature.  Dee did look up last year's records and it was not until the 29th of November that any regularity with egg laying was started.  One hen did lay earlier in the month last year but skipped almost a complete month before she started cycling normally.
