The CPP BIAAG research team has just completed its research "Brazilian Adolescent Girls in a Virtual World" for Plan International's Because I am a Girl 2010 edition that will be released in September 2010. The research collected the views of Brazilian girls and ICT and included working with an adolescent girls advisory group, eight focus groups - four with adolescent girls and four with adolescent boys - and an online survey posted at netica.org.br/cpp-br. The survey will remain posted for a while longer so we encourage young people in Brazil to complete it. Thank you to our CPP Brazil partners: NECA, Obra do Berco, Secretariat of Social Inclusion of Municipality of Santo Andre, Estrela Dalva, Childhood Brasil, SaferNet, and Plan Brasil and our research team Luiz Rossi, Silvia Lossaco, Suzanne Williams and Micheal Montgomery who were involved in the work. |

CPP - Thailand at a glance
CPP Thailand has seen some exciting progress with public and private partners. The ongoing development of IC4, an ICT safety curriculum, with private company Certiport is much anticipated and is expected to be piloted with more than 70,000 students at schools supported by Royal Thai Princess Sirindorn as early as August 2010.
Thai beneficiaries of CPP trainings are using the Circle of Rights methodology in classrooms in CPP pilot locations and discussions about child rights and protection are happening without direct CPP facilitation. This is a major step towards mainstreaming child rights and protection discussions amongst all facets of society.

Pilot Site Profile - Maranhão, Brazil
CPP in partnership with Plan Brazil, is working in the State of Maranhão, Brazil. Located in Northeast Brazil, five of its municiplaities are participating in the Circle of Rights methodology to better understand the uses and dangers of ICT that children experience in the region. The creation of a new law regulating Local Area Network Houses (Lanhouses) makes this an important pilot location as there is the potential to share learning about the new law with lanhouse owners and government decision makers who regulate more than 90,000 Lanhouses across Brazil.
