The USDA website contains a wealth of information available to the public. Not only does the USDA provide AJC cash price reporting as part of the National Apple Processing Report, but it also gathers and posts worldwide statistics regarding the apple industry, including production and movement. Below, we have included a description of the available data as well as links to the reports.

USDA FAS Worldwide Reports

FAS links Unites States agriculture to the world, thus enhancing export opportunities and global food security. Through its network of global contacts and international relationships, FAS has created the Global Agricultural Information Network (GAIN) which publishes its reports on the USDA website. This database provides worldwide information dating back to 1995 on various agricultural products and trade information. By accessing GAIN Reports, anyone can search the FAS database consisting of annual and semi-annual information on production, supply and distribution. Information can be accessed by date, country and commodity.

Among the various GAIN Reports the AJC industry may find interesting is the 2010 FAS GAIN Report on China. It contains information about China's AJC and fresh apple production as of the end of November 2010.

MGEX is a Designated Contract Market (DCM) and Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO) established in 1881. It is currently researching and designing an Apple Juice Concentrate contract with the assistance of the AJC industry.
