The Story: Cassie McDowell, a presenter with Productive Learning and Leisure, really "walks the walk" when it comes to GOALS. It was the last week of the year and Cassie needed a few more seminar registrants to reach a year-end goal she set for herself. She pulled out all the stops with a flurry of phone calls and emails over the usually slow week. On the afternoon of Dec. 31, she was still three registrants short when INSPIRATION struck. Her company's Mind in Business program applies self-development principles to business success. So, rather than let herself off the hook, Cassie hung out in the Self Development section of Copperfield's Books for three hours on New Year's Eve. She struck up conversations with people and signed up two more that night. That is an impressive commitment to success.
The Take Away: Be courageous in doing what it takes to reach your goals. If they are important to you, be creative (prospecting in a bookstore? that's bold) and persevere to the end (5,4,3,2,1...Happy New Year!). The Challenge: What are your 2011 goals and how far will you go to reach them?
