Bishop Hope Morgan Ward announces the configuration of the cabinet for the conference year 2010-2011
::
Jerry Beam and Vickie White, superintendents of the New Albany and Greenwood Districts, will share supervision of the Senatobia District while continuing in leadership of their respective districts.
Giles Lindley and Henderson Rasberry will continue to share supervision of the East Jackson, Starkville, and West Jackson Districts.
This configuration does not affect district lines. All districts remain in place with the current pattern of staffing, administrative offices and ministry.
The task force to study the optimal configuration of districts in the Mississippi Conference continues its work and will report at the 2010 Annual Conference.
Eleven districts served by nine superintendents will be put in place for 2010-2011 and is projected for one year only. One effect will be a reduction in cabinet expenses in this time of continued fiscal challenge.
Victoria Sizemore-Baldwin, who has served as district superintendent of the Senatobia District, will receive an appointment to a local church in June 2010.
Thank you for your prayers for the districts involved in this projected plan, for these leaders and for our life together as United Methodist people.
In Christ's service, Hope Morgan Ward
