Unity in Heart and Mission

"...we are witnesses of these things"
As the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity approaches, we give thanks for the unity of heart and mission we are experiencing in response to the devastation in Haiti.
During the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2010, Christians throughout the world will be listening together to the promise and commission that are part of Christ's final words before his ascension: "You are witnesses of these things." (Luke 24)
Traditionally the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is celebrated between January 18 and 25 (in the northern hemisphere) or at Pentecost (in the southern hemisphere). The Week of Prayer becomes a part of congregational life in churches throughout the world. Special ecumenical worship services are encouraged for this special week.
