Jesse Esparza Receives Counselor of the Year Award |
Jesse Esparza, counselor at the Greeley/Weld Small Business Development Center (SBDC), has received the 2009 Counselor of the Year Award from the Colorado SBDC Network. Esparza was nominated and endorsed by Directors at the Greeley/Weld, Boulder, and Westminster offices and competed against nominees from the other fourteen SBDC center locations in Colorado. Jesse was recognized because he consistently surpassed job expectations and responsibilities while working at each of these three SBDC offices.
Esparza counsels at the Greeley/Weld SBDC and Westminster SBDC offices. He has assisted over 150 entrepreneurs and over 50 small businesses in the Greeley, Loveland, Brighton, and Longmont areas. He also served as the Greeley Interim SBDC Director for the first three months of 2008. In addition to his work with the SBDC network, Esparza lends his expertise as an ambassador to the Latino Chamber of Commerce of Boulder County. His professional background includes many years in small business as well as adult and child educational services.
Richard Pickett, director of the Greeley/Weld SBDC, characterizes Jesse as "a self-starter" and "very creative in coming up with new ideas for improving counseling and client interaction". This is not the first time Esparza has been recognized by the SBDC. In 2007, he was awarded the Colorado Volunteer of the Year Award.

September Start-Up Orientation |
| Interested in turning a business idea into a reality? Attend this free workshop to learn more about the prerequisites and planning required to start a business. It is recommended that those who have not yet started a business attend this class before pursuing individualized counseling with the Greeley/Weld SBDC.
