 DEAR JABBERS: Hello Ft. Lauderdale! I'm the new Managing Editor of JAB Ft. Lauderdale and I'm excited to welcome you back to your weekly dose of the online grapevine. I moved to South Florida with my family a year ago from Manhattan and what a whirlwind it's been! From a high-rise in the city to a house on a cul-de-sac, my life couldn't be more different than if we had moved to Mars. But thankfully both the language and the currency are the same and the natives are friendly and helpful. As a still newish Floridian I've tried my best in the last year to check out all the great stuff in and around Ft. Lauderdale for me and my family.
Some newfound favorites include fabulous dining -- as a diehard Mexican food lover I was overjoyed to discover there's a Dos Caminos here just like the one I used to frequent in NYC. My new all-time favorite steak place is Shula's on the Beach (Mmmmm is simply not enough Ms to do this place justice.) There's an abundance of cool places we love to take our kids like the Museum of Discovery and Science, the Young At Art Museum and My Gym in Aventura. And what's not to love about living a short drive from the beach?
Even after a year I feel like I've just started to scratch the surface of all there is to enjoy and do in Broward County. Luckily I have you, my fellow JABBERS, to help keep me informed, in the know and answer questions about resources

Are you expecting a baby boy? I am selling a Lulu DK Matouk Minnow print blue crib set. It includes a quilted bumper, blanket, changing pad cover and boudoir sham for a baby pillow. Everything is in mint condition - my son never slept in his crib and the changing pad was never used. The Matouk baby line has since been discontinued, so this is a collector's item!
