Not a JABBER? That Simply Can't Be!

JABbubble

Spring has already sprung here in South Florida! That wonderful transition between winter and summer, when the days are longer, the temps are absolutely glorious and we undertake some "spring cleaning" projects. However, don't spend all your time cleaning indoors, when there is so much going on in the Greater Ft. Lauderdale area. We have it all, a little city and a little country. If you are out in the Davie and Southwest Ranches area, you are privy to horse backing riding and farmland. You can enjoy the luxury of wide open spaces and a little less traffic. You can also make your way into the subtropical wilderness of the Everglades out in the western parts of Broward. Traveling back east on the I-595 toward Hollywood and the City of Ft. Lauderdale,  you will find yourself in a bustling, mini metropolis with more retail and great dining. Make your way even farther east, and warm your toes in our beaches (23 miles of beach to be exact). So, take advantage of our less humid days and get out and about.. Check out our What To Do, See and Hear section below, where I've listed some great events happening locally over the next couple of weeks. Enjoy and Happy JABBING!

I have a few spots in my back patio where the pavers are uneven. I am looking for a reliable, quality and quick service to fix it. I had one company look at it, but I am still waiting for an estimate one week later. I would love someone who wants my business! Thank you.

Need Shiny New Cookware
From Laura Linen: REPLY
I'm still using 25-year-old cookware that wasn't that good to start with, and I need to purge! What is the best brand that is safe (non-Teflon), good quality, reasonably priced and not too heavy?

                            Heartfelt Thanks
                            From Avery Anderson

JABBERS, my family can't thank you enough. I recently posted that my husband received an unfavorable cholesterol reading and we were looking for alternatives to prescription medication. We received so many unbelievably useful responses: detailed dosages of vitamins and minerals, names and numbers for holistic physicians, suggestions for alternative therapies and books to read, referrals to health and wellness coaches ... and even tips about different foods that, when eaten regularly, can make a big difference. Thank you for helping us down the right path. Your generosity and willingness to share your own health challenges have done our hearts good. Many, many heartfelt thanks.

My car was totaled in an accident and I need to replace it. I'm looking for a 2006-2009 Lexus RX330, RX400h, or RX350 in great condition inside and out. If you know of someone looking to sell theirs, please reply. Thank you!

Looking for Adult ADHD Coach/Therapist
From Anonymous: REPLY
I was diagnosed as a child with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) but I managed to excel in school and I'm now a practicing attorney. I already have a psychiatrist who oversees my medication but I'm looking for more support/coaching to manage it, especially as it relates to functioning in the working world. More than just therapy, I'm looking for actual practical techniques and advice. If any of you have any recommendations, please send the info my way! Also, if any of you know any successful attorneys who have ADD/ADHD and are managing it well, I would love to talk to them!

Our Troops Need Healthy Snacks

From Team JAB

Our JABBERS are some of the most generous and compassionate people around. In Miami, JABBERS Amy and Jaime Zambrano (Zambrano Orthodontics) have been supporting our troops overseas and at home for many months now, and they recently rallied their friends and acquaintances to send Valentine's care packages to a unit in Afghanistan. Captain Marc Yim wrote this to the Zambranos:

"The V-day cards and cookies were a hit. Can I ask a huge favor? I think we're all good on the junk food as the drawers are all filled up. I'm making an assessment and the soldiers need healthier snacks. Would it be possible to ask your network of families to send us breakfast bars with low sugar content, fruit snacks, powdered drink mix with low sugar (Propel, etc.), almonds, trail mix, driedfruit, multi-vitamins, etc. I'm starting to see a trend of dental problems and weight gain because the soldiers are too tired to workout out after a 12 hour shift.  If not, we will still gladly accept whatever you send us.  I'm just looking out long-term for my guys and gals."

Please join us in sending healthy care packages to our troops as a small way to thank them for their dedication and sacrifices. Mail your packages to CAPT Marc Yim, Task Force MED A, Camp Marmal / Mazar-E-Sharif, APO AE 09368. (You will just pay local U.S. postage rates.) Thank you JABBERS!

I'm Tardy For the Party Theme - Help!
From Ashley Schutz: REPLY
I'm chairing a charity fundraiser event this fall in Palm Beach, Florida, and the theme is always centered around music and cars. I'm trying to come up with something new and unique, but I'm having a creative block. Past themes have revolved around colors (Little Red Corvette, Pink Cadillac, etc.) but we've pretty much exhausted every color of the rainbow. Last year was more of a generic "rock 'n roll" concept. Has anyone been to a similarly themed event? If so, I'd love to hear about the ideas you saw. Thanks so much.
