My husband and I have been trying to conceive for many years now. We have seen so many doctors and been through so many failed IVF cycles. It has been an emotional roller-coaster ride of injections, hormones, acupuncture, herbs, diet (you name it - we've done it). It is heart-breaking to come to the point where enough is enough. I'm finally wrapping my head around the idea that if I want to birth a child then the only way would be through donor eggs. The idea is so foreign to me and I feel very alone in this journey. But,I know there must be many other women out there who have taken the same path. I would love to hear from some of you out there who have chosen to have a child using donor eggs. I would love to hear how you coped with your fears and misgivings, how you found your donor, what your feelings are (good and bad) on becoming a parent in such a unique way, and how you feel about your children and what you have told them. Any advice or support during this strange and difficult time would be so welcome.
