Dear JABBERS: Poor Thanksgiving seems to me to be the forgotten holiday. It is only the 22nd of November, and many of my neighbors have rushed to put up the holiday lights. Every time I turn on the TV, the ads for turkey and stuffing seem to be stuffed in between the ads for special Holiday sales. Personally, I like to savor the moment. For those of you who want to enjoy your long weekend of family, football and food, I say here, here! Grab a turkey sandwich and check out our recommendations of a few cultural things you can enjoy with your family. And if you do plan to brave the stores this weekend, make sure you take a moment to think about small businesses. Saturday is Small Business Saturday. JAB is all about community, so make sure you support the community that supports you, and keep it local. Have a Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Team JAB!

I'm Considering a Personal Chef for the Holidays
From Jaysri Castro: REPLY
We are having a lot of family over for the holidays and thought it would be nice to have a personal chef come and cook meals while everyone is in town. Has anyone had any experience with this? Did you feel like you had more time to relax? I wanted to get some recommendations and thoughts on how it went?
Sweet Shop Shower Spot
From Rochelle Broder-Singer: REPLY
I'm looking for a fun spot to throw a baby shower: A tea room, cupcake bakery, or something similar. Can anyone recommend somewhere that can accommodate a medium-sized group? Thank you.
Nanny Needed In Davie From Katherine Sleipnes: REPLY Our Davie family is looking for a full time, live in housekeeper/nanny to work Monday-Friday. We have a large house: Two boys aged 11 & 9, a dog and a parrot. The boys are in school 8-2pm daily. We prefer a Spanish/English speaking, non- smoker who can drive. We offer good conditions; our last nanny was with us for 9 years! Please contact us at the e-mail above or 954 557 8638 if interested.

Shop Small This Saturday From TEAM JAB First there was Black Friday. Then came Cyber Monday. Sure, there will always be a reason to join midnight lines at the big box stores and cross crucial items off your list with the click of an online shopping button. But on November 26th, we implore our JABBERS to support the local businesses that make our community thrive. Businesses that that create jobs, boost the economy and preserve neighborhoods, right here in Broward County. JustAskBoo was built around local: local residents, local recommendations, and local advertisers. Won't you join us by taking the Small Business Saturday pledge on one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year? All it takes is one purchase to shop small and make a big impact. Click here to watch a really cool video that says it much better than we ever could.
