Getting to Know JAB

Dear JABBERS:

Ever wonder about your fellow JABBERS? We thought you might. So we decided to select a few JABBERS to join an Advisory Board to help make JAB even better.  We would like to introduce you to one of those special people this week:

Sheila
The Sheeran Family

For many of you, Sheila Sheeran may be a familiar face.   Sheila has made Ft. Lauderdale her home since age 6. She is an active mother, yoga enthusiast, dedicated volunteer, and  loving wife to husband Jack and their four children Evie 7, Suzie 5 and two year-old twins, Jack and Bridget.  Sheila has many passions, but one she holds dear to her heart is The March of Dimes. Sheila became involved with March of Dimes after her pregnancy with her youngest children. Pregnant with triplets, Sheila carried the babies to 27 weeks and 5 days, and delivered all three. Tragically, daughter Lindsey Kate died shortly after birth. Twins Jack and Bridget survived. Jack was 2lbs, 5oz at birth, and Bridget was 1lb, 7oz. The family spent a grueling 4 months, while both babies were in  the hospital, managing their care and the needs of

Twins Jack & Bridget

their older children. Happily, they are now healthy, thriving 2 year-olds. Wanting to honor both her daughter Lindsey Kate's memory and the good health of her twins, Sheila and her family turned to The March of Dimes. The March of Dimes funds research which is critical to the survival of pre-mature infants. The family organized a team for the Annual Walk, and in their first year, they broke records by raising $15,000.

In honor of Sheila and her family, JAB Ft. Lauderdale will make a gift to the March of Dimes Walk this year.  We are honored to know Sheila and to welcome her as part of our Advisory Board.

Happy JABBING!

Oui Oui!  Christmas in Paris
From Paige Van Rensselaer-Kunkle: REPLY

Our family is traveling to Paris for Christmas this year and I want to make sure our apartment is festively decorated, including a live Christmas tree.  We will be arriving 3 days before Christmas...if you've traveled there before, or know a local resident, do you know where we can go in the 7th arrondissement to quickly buy a live tree?  Merci!

Fellow JABBER Needs Your Vote For Her Invention That Will Keep Kids Safer

From Becki Rundels: REPLY

I've invented a children's safety product and I need every one of your votes to bring it to market! The invention is the Giant Bathmat for Kids and I entered it into a contest that brings consumer products to market - but I need more than 55,000 votes to be this week's winner so please take a minute to help. Did you know that 43,000 kids slip and fall in the bathtub each year, and that the biggest bathtub safety mat on the market covers less than half of the tub's surface? Please click HERE to cast your vote and to view a short video. Thank you!*

Looking For Nanny

From Bianca Bordes: REPLY

My family is still looking for a part-time Nanny to care for our 9 month old daughter. We live in the East Pompano Beach/North Ft. Lauderdale area and need someone with their own transportation. We also prefer someone that doesn't live too far away. If anyone knows of a caring, loving and trustworthy Nanny with references, please pass along their information. Thanks in advance! It's been so difficult finding just the right person.

Loving Nanny Available

From Ceci Salow: REPLY

Lorena has cared for our 2 girls (now 9 & 3 yrs. old) for 5 &1/2 years. As our girls are growing our needs have changed and we no longer need a full-time nanny. We're sad to see her go but wish to help her find work with another nice family. Lorena is attentive, cautious, kind w/ children, honest, responsible and punctual. Our 3 year- old loves to play with her. She is legal, has her own car, and speaks some English, but mostly Spanish. She is looking for a full-time, live-out nanny position and is available immediately. Please call Lorena at (786) 419-0427.
