When I was growing up, my mother had an ironing lady. We would drop the basket of clothing to be ironed and we would pick it up a few days later for what I believe was a nominal fee, as I know we were not rich! Does anyone know of this service around the SE/SW section of Fort Lauderdale? Please reply to me with the info!

My Mother passed away recently and I am in need of help with moving some items from her home. There are two major pieces that I would like from her N. Miami Beach apartment -- a recliner and the box spring & mattress. I am currently going through chemotherapy and need some charitable help with this move. I believe that there are charities that provide this service, but I don't know which ones. If anyone has information that could be helpful, please contact me at the reply above.

Earth Day is April 22 and Here is a Suggestion!
Broward County runs a household waste and used electronics cleanup once a year in cities across the county. This is a great, earth friendly way to rid your home of toxic waste and old electronics, and to do it the right way. Make a note of these dates in the following cities: April 17 in Davie, 3801 Pine Island Rd., and May 1 in Tamarac, 6011 Nob Hill Rd., and May 15 in Weston, 2599 S. Post Rd.
