Professor John Lavach remembered
At the memorial service on Sept. 25 for Professor John Lavach, family and friends remembered for his humor, versatility, broad interests, and engaging teaching style. Mrs. Lavach received a plaque from the Virginia Academy of School Psychologists commemorating Dr. Lavach for Trail-Blazing Service in Training School Psychologists for Virginia and the Nation.

Benefits of therapeutic riding for children with autism extend to classroom
Dr. Sandy Ward, professor of school psychology at William & Mary, led a study which confirmed parents' intuition about the benefits of riding on autistic children. A new quantitative study conducted with researchers in the School is the first to show that those benefits also extend to the classroom setting.

From Theory to Practice: Sustainability on Campus
An assignment in Dr. Shannon Chance's course titled Educational Planning for Environmental Sustainability resulted in a focus on sustainability in Boehly Cafe in Miller Hall. Higher education master's student Michele Mitchell-Moffit and doctoral student Amy Sikes worked to enhance sustainability at the cafe.
