W&M well-represented at AERA
School of Education faculty and students presented 18 papers at the 2012 Annual Meeting of the American Educational Research Association (AERA), April 13-17, in Vancouver. Many also served in governance roles within their divisions and special interest groups.

Camp Launch designed to set 7th graders on a trajectory for success
With a $250,000 renewable grant from the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, the Center for Gifted Ed will sponsor Camp Launch, a residential two-week summer enrichment program for gifted learners. Fifty-five seventh graders with low-income backgrounds will participate.

Six pre-service teachers selected for Teachers of Promise Institute
Six teacher candidates were nominated for and participated in the 2012 Teachers of Promise (TOP) Institute. TOP recognizes outstanding pre-service teachers who demonstrate particular potential as teacher leaders.
