$2.5 million awarded for STEM education
W&M STEM Education Alliance will continue teacher training and evaluation of Virginia programs and also expand efforts to include Charleston, SC schools. New partnerships with Temple and Drexel Universities will deliver STEM programs to high need schools in the Philadelphia area - a result of funding for STEM education from the Department of Defense.

Through a multi-year partnership with the Virginia Department of Education, Dr. James Stronge and a team of research partners are assisting with the development, training, and implementation of a state-wide teacher evaluation program for Virginia' public schools. |
Graduate Education Association (GEA) keeps students engaged
Recognized as a leader among his peers, Anthony Washington is the current president of the Graduate Education Association (GEA). As a doctoral student in the EPPL program, and a graduate assistant in the Center for Gifted Education, Anthony is fully engaged in life at the School of Education.

Three from W&M to serve on National Association for Gifted Children board
Tracy Cross has been elected President-Elect for the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) Board of Directors. Additionally, Kimberley L. Chandler '84, M.Ed. '92, Ph.D. '04 was elected Network Representative and Catherine Little '94, M.Ed. '97, Ph.D. '01 was elected member-at-large.
