Professor James StrongeProfessor Stronge to design evaluation system for Georgia schools

Professor James Stronge will lead a team of experts to develop a new and uniform system for evaluating Georgia's 143,000 teachers and school administrators. Prof. Stronge said he believes teachers recognize the importance of having proper evaluations of their effectiveness. Read more in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

DC Summer InstituteSummer Institute in Washington DC makes theory come to life 
At the 2011 DC Summer Insittute, conducted by Director of Community Engagement Drew Stelljes, Ph.D. '07 (EPPL, HE), undergraduate students combine classroom and experiential learning while seeing the dynamic institutions of the Washington, D.C. area firsthand. The classes are followed by working in an internship for 10 weeks.
Meagan TaylorMeagan Taylor '11 takes 1st place in National Essay Contest
Meagan Taylor '11 (American Studies), now in the master's degree program, Elementary Education, has been awarded 1st place for an essay in BrainTrack's Teaching Schools Scholarship. Meagan's essay gives advice about studying, entering a teaching program, and preparing for a teaching career.
