Thomas L. ShorttTom Shortt accepts 2011 DeMary Award as the "capstone" of his career

Thomas L. Shortt, Executive Director (retired), Virginia Association of Elementary School Principals was honored as the recipient of the 2011 Jo Lynne DeMary Award in recognition of his distinguished leadership and contribution to the field of education at a breakfast April 14.

SOE students, Christine Ammirati, Meagan Gillcrist, and Stephen Salvato were selected to participate in the 8th Annual Teachers of Promise Institute held at James Madison University based on their academic credentials, commitment to the teaching profession, and exemplary character.  They attended with Professor Sharon deFur.
