Greetings!
On August 10, 2010, the City Council and Redevelopment Agency Board unanimously approved the Strong Neighborhoods Business Plan Update (Plan). Stabilizing neighborhoods in crisis is one of the four goals from the Plan. This effort will focus on thirteen neighborhoods of highest need with the goal of creating cleaner, safer, and more engaged neighborhoods during the next two years.

Staff will present the implementation strategy, staffing changes, and transition timeline at future Neighborhood Action Coalition meetings. If you live in a Strong Neighborhoods area, please plan to attend to learn more about program changes and how to get involved.
Thank you to the more than 140 neighborhood leaders who participated in the update of the Strong Neighborhoods Business Plan and helped shape the resulting four goals:
1. Removing barriers to neighborhood action across the City,
2. Stabilizing neighborhoods in crisis,
3. Mobilizing neighborhood action City-wide, and
4. Connecting resources to priorities.
The Plan focuses on leveraging the greatest assets our neighborhoods have, its people. We look forward to the opportunity to engage leaders in improving the health and well being of their neighborhoods.
