Greetings!
This week San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed, along with Councilmembers Sam Liccardo and Pierluigi Oliverio sent a letter to the California High Speed Rail Authority Board requesting that an underground option continue to be studied in the Diridon Station Area.
In response to that letter Rod Diridon of the High Speed Rail Authority Board has indicated that an underground option for the Diridon Station will be studied in the analysis that moves forward.
The next Good Neighbor Committee will be Wednesday January 27, 2010. This meeting will focus on Public Art in the Diridon Station Area.
An additional Good Neighbor Committee meeting has been added on Monday February 1, 2010. The focus on this meeting will be developing priorities for implementing High Speed Rail that will be part of the Diridon Station Area Framework for Implementation. This new meeting has been added to allow for the participation of the appropriate Context Sensitive Solutions staff from the Peninsula Rail Program. High Speed Rail Meetings
There are two upcoming meetings on High Speed Rail that you may be interested in attending. If you wish to attend only one meeting, we would suggest you attend the January 14th Context Sensitive Solutions Workshop.
The first meeting will be an open house that will provide information on the next steps in the environmental review of the San Jose to Merced section of the proposed California High-Speed Train system.
