There's Still Time to Provide Your Input!

An increased number of companies are placing a senior executive in charge of environmental sustainability. The field is continually changing, and the market is forever on the move. Song for the Blue Ocean

CoverSafina, Carl (1997) Song for the Blue Ocean. Henry Holt Publishers, New York, NY.

Normally a book over 450 pages long with dense prose would put me off. But this book is so exquisitely written you get lost in the stories about the health of our seas and the people who live off them and those who try to protect them. Safina is able to make fish like the bluefin tuna and the salmon as charismatic as a panda, as magnificent as a polar bear.

coverNon-profits are not without controversy. This book looks at how they are viewed by different stakeholders: social scientists and practitioners. It examines different environmental NGOs and their strategies. If you work in an NGO, plan to start one, or intend to engage one, this might be an eye-opening read.
