Greetings!
Ahhh, summer at last. The summer brings ISSP staff a little breathing room to do our annual planning. We're very proud of our new web site and expanded course offerings. Now we're ready to take on more new projects. Watch for news about those in coming newsletters!
Our ISSP Management retreat will be this July where we'll be planning what to offer next year (Sept 2010-Aug 2011). We'll be sending out a survey asking about educational offerings later this month so be sure to fill it out. If you have other needs or ideas, please share them! And plan to get more involved in ISSP yourself! Think about what you can contribute to the field.
In the mean time we hope you'll join us for our summer activities. We have some good webinars and member meetings planned you won't want to miss. For example, have you ever thought about becoming a sustainability consultant? Then you won't want to miss the June 4 member meeting (see left sidebar) with guest Bruce Hazen, a career coach who specializes in supporting mid-career entrepreneurs.
Sincerely, The ISSP Management Team Executive Director: Marsha Willard Managing Editor: Darcy Hitchcock Education Director: Christy Nordstrom Marketing Director: Jessica Vreeswijk Board Liaison: Dorothy Atwood

June we will send a survey to all ISSP members and Event
attendees. Your input will help us understand how you use ISSP's

Webinar:
"How to Assess a Living
Wage" with Judy Gearhart July 29, 12:00PM Pacific Time-USA
|
Join Judy Gearhart from Social Accountability
International (SAI). SAI has developed a series of recommendations and
guidance for assessing living wages in a way that is both time and
place specific. Part of sustainability
is paying people a living wage, not just minimum
wage. But how can you assess the adequacy of wages? What's fair in one
location isn't in another. Do you base it on a single wage-earner
family of four with two cars or a recent college slumming with
roommates? How do you come up with a number that is defensible and
appropriate? Where can you find useful statistics? And what qualitative
analysis is needed?
Webinar: Thursday July 29, 2010 @ 12PM Pacific Time-USA. Webinars run about an hour in length. This event is FREE to members and $25 to non-members. Registration is required. Register Now.
