Texas Health Stephenville Earns Chest Pain Center Designation Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Stephenville received full Cycle III Chest Pain Center accreditation - the highest accreditation possible for treatment of chest pain - from the Society of Chest Pain Centers on May 17. The designation means that Texas Health Stephenville has met or exceeded stringent national standards for rapid recognition and collaborative treatment of patients who may be experiencing a heart attack. Along with examining procedures for patients experiencing a heart attack, the Chest Pain Center accreditation process looks at a hospital's capabilities for education and prevention of all types of heart disease. Texas Health Stephenville, for example, performs stress testing to help diagnose and treat patients who have symptoms of acute coronary syndrome, usually due to obstruction of the coronary arteries. Texas Health Stephenville and the Society of Chest Pain Centers recognize the need to significantly reduce the mortality rate of these patients by reducing the time that it takes to receive treatment and increase the accuracy and effectiveness of treatment. |
