Full Accreditation Earned By Texas Health Resources Research Program
In a major validation of its applied research program, Texas Health Resources has received full accreditation from the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs (AAHRPP). The accreditation applies to Texas Health's human subject protection program, which includes the system's Institutional Review Board (IRB). Texas Health is one of only 241 organizations worldwide that have achieved full accreditation from AAHRPP for its human subject protection programs. Only about 20 percent of these are hospitals or health systems. Texas Health voluntarily participated in AAHRPP's extensive accreditation process. Full accreditation by AAHRPP is considered the "gold seal" in human research study participant protection. |

I.T. Department at Texas Health Resources Named Among Nation's Best
The Texas Health Resources Innovative Technologies Division has been selected as one of the nation's Best Hospital Information Technology (IT) Departments by Healthcare IT News, a major trade publication.
Texas Health is ranked No. 10 in the large hospitals and health care systems category, and is the only Texas-based health care organization recognized. Texas Health was selected from among 179 hospitals and health systems nominated to Healthcare IT News. The publication based the rankings on results of a workplace satisfaction survey completed by nominees' IT department staff members. The rankings are contained in a supplement to the magazine's December issue and online. The recognition follows Texas Health's selection in June for the fourth straight year by Computerworld magazine as one of the top 100 workplaces for IT professionals. Texas Health placed No. 19 on that annual list, up from 34 in 2010. |
