Featured Question from One of our Readers:
Q: How do I know how much time I need to set-up for an informal party for 50 guests in my home? ~S.A.
A: Good question! That depends on a few factors. If you are setting up tables and chairs give yourself 30 minutes just for that part of the preparations. Save yourself some time and go with a buffet instead of a plated service so that dishes and flatware don't need to be placed at individual seats.
Give yourself some time at the end of set-up to make final touches and add items like fresh flowers and candles, etc.
Generally, allow an hour and half for set-up for an informal party of 50.
