More Than Just a Pretty Face!

Sunflowers produce seeds for snacking, oil for cooking, leaves for feeding cattle, and fibers for creating paper.

The leaves and buds of young sunflowers exhibit heliotropism (sun turning) as their orientation changes from east to west during the course of a day. Once mature, however, flower heads face east and do not move.
