Randy Dersham The Applegate Valley carves itself from the base of Siskiyou Mountains to the south and the boundaries of the Rogue River to the north, bordered on either end by the cities of Grants Pass (to the west) and Jacksonville (to the east).  

 

This is a quiet little corner of Oregon, where the trees grow tall, fish grow big, and grapes flourish in the Southern Oregon sunshine. 

 

If you've never been to the Applegate, by all means go. But step softly; life moves a little slower there. Ink a trip in your calendar with some of these ideas to start you off:

The Rogue Valley encompasses nearly 1.15 million acres in the intermountain valleys of southern Oregon. This region has approximately 150 vineyards growing over 40 different varieties on roughly 2,500 acres producing nearly 5,000 tons of grapes.
