The Launching of a Boat Named Doris

It took three hours, $180 in gas, a
trip to the swimsuit store, and two bags of potato chips, but we finally got the boat launched on her maiden voyage of 2012. Three giggly girls and two adult women can do anything they put their minds to, this I've learned. We had offers of help from the gentlemen folk at the boat launch, but no thanks, we've got this.
Heading out on a sunny, midweek summer day to Lake Billy Chinook was one of the smartest things we've ever done. The lake was like glass on the Metolius arm, and we saw no more than three boats in our vicinity all day. The coolers were packed with sandwiches, fruit, and pop, we slathered ourselves with SPF 100, and we were on our way. READ MORE
