Coyote Creek Nature Tral ODFW

The Coyote Creek Nature Trail - in the Fern Ridge Wildlife Area outside of Eugene - winds its way through a stream-side riparian area, which is bordered on one side by Coyote Creek, and on the other by various fields and marshes. This area provides excellent habitat for many wild animals, including deer, coyote, beavers, rabbits, birds, frogs, and snakes. READ MORE

It was a rainy day and I was driving home through the McKenzie River Valley from a five-day road trip. The weather on this particular day was dreamy, sort of ephemeral, sprinkled with patches of sunshine amidst the rain.

 

There I was in La La Land, thinking deep and important thoughts, when around a corner a rainbow appeared. I thought for a moment that I could actually catch it; it was so close. Just a hundred yards ahead of me. I ... was ... almost ... there. And then it was gone. READ MORE
