Leaping Into February

Jump, Plunge and Skate Across Oregon

Nordic Ultra Running Insights ComOnce every four years, February 29th appears on the calendar. And so it is in 2012. In celebration of this very special day in this very special month, we've rounded up some adventures across Oregon that you can leap, plunge and skate into. Sometimes, especially during the winter months, just walking out the front door or driving to a new destination requires some gumption. Be smart, prepared and, when you're ready, take a leap of faith. READ MORE

Polar Plunge
Thousands of people around Oregon run into icy cold water to raise money for Special Olympics Oregon. As a "plunger" you participate in one of the five plunges around the state. Maybe you join a team. Maybe not. Then you raise a minimum of $50 in pledges from friends and family (but the more you raise, the bigger your incentive prizes). Then on plunge day you run or jump into the water and get out as fast as you can. You decide how far you want to go in. It's all done for fun and to raise money for a great cause. Event Website
