Quiet Reigns

Sunrise at Crescent Lake

Crescent Lake Sunrise Wiki

The lake is like glass at this hour. Vacationers are waking

at their leisure, the kids haven't been rousted yet, and the motorboats are all moored in their slips - save a lone fisherman way out yonder. In an hour, Crescent Lake will come alive, with splashings and dashings and rumblings

all around. But for now, Quiet reigns.

This is the perfect time for a walk around the lake with the company of a dog and one's own thoughts. The circumference of Crescent Lake is 14 miles, and we won't make it past the first campground. Come winter, this trail will come alive with snowmobiles, and we'll return to attack the trial's full length. But for now, we'll poke along until we get hungry, and then head back to our cabin.
