Crater Lake Rim Run   The staging area at the Starting Line of an endurance event always courses with anticipation. Elite athletes mingle with weekend warriors, aspiring Olympians, and middle-aged women with desk jobs. The spirit of camaraderie and competition surges through the crowd. We stretch, we talk, we wait. Upbeat music blares in the background. The line to the last-minute potty stop shortens. The announcer lists the event sponsors, rules and other "housekeeping" information. Then the countdown begins ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ... and the gun fires. And we're off!  Read More
