A World of Wine

The Columbia River Gorge

Gorge Wine on Deck

Every once every 14,000 years or so, a convergence of land, water, weather and elevation combine to create an imperfectly perfect place to grow the ambrosia of the ages: grapes. A grand plethora of these sweet, rich, bitter, subtle gems grow in the Columbia River Gorge. Harvested from the Cascade mountains to the eastern desert of Oregon, the grapes are then distilled into vintages as vast and diverse as the landscape from which they spring.

The good news about all this is that the Columbia Gorge Wine Growers have created a map that will guide you through the 40 miles of vineyards that host travelers, tasters, testers, connoisseurs and casual explorers. Read More.
