Where the Wild Things Grow Road Trip to Mt. Pisgah Arboretum
What has 23 bridges, seven miles of trails, 339 plant species, a river running through it, and an octopus in its midst? Just off Interstate 5, past the porn shop and the convenience store, sits a magnificent oasis of flora and fauna called Mt. Pisgah Arboretum. Its 209 acres create a living museum with five different habitats within its borders - a river meadow, riparian forest, savannah, wet forest, and cedar forest - most of which is allowed to grow wild and unruly, the way nature interned. One exception to this au natural condition is the he Patricia M. Baker Memorial Wildflower Garden, which is a two-acre explosion of color and form in the River Meadow. Read More.
