Byway to Beauty Over the Rivers & Through the Woods 
In the course of 66 miles, we traveled from the snow-crusted cedar trees of the Cascades, through the mossy forest of hemlock, and into the verdant farmland of Linn County. Introducing Oregon's scenic byway: Over the Rivers & Through the Woods. This beautiful, winding road will take you through much of Oregon's rich history, with the rushing Santiam River as your compass and recreational opportunities around most every corner. While the Scenic Byway officially begins in the historic town of Brownsville (Oregon's third oldest town), Pip and I made our headquarters in Albany, at the pet-friendly Phoenix Inn.
