Comfort Meets AdventureWinter at Crescent Lake Resort

"Whatever you do, stay on the groomed trail. Or this is going to get ugly."
This was the advice from our snowmobile guide, Jess Meyer, who had no intention of spending his day digging neophytes like my family out of snowdrifts. It had dumped about a foot of fresh and fluffy powder over night and, while the day was bright and beautiful, our goal was to skirt the perimeter of Crescent Lake - 14 miles - before the cocktail hour. There was no time to lose.
Crescent Lake Resort makes a dandy launching pad for winter recreation. Ten miles from the Willamette Pass Ski Resort, and nestled in the Deschutes National Forest, countless trails fan out from the resort and into the hinterlands.
