Ski Anthony Lakes
Super Human Skiers

Anthony Lakes Rock GardenDawn comes early in Eastern Oregon and you are in for a fantastic skiing adventure at Ski Anthony Lakes. This mountain resort offers a wonderful low-stress family ski experience and the highest base elevation ski area in Oregon. And that means snow. Now, there's snow, and then there's snow. Anthony Lakes is famous for the latter: deep, fluffy powder that hangs in the air like smoke on the mountain's 21 steep runs. Whether it's straight down Tumble Off through the Rock Garden or dropping out of Upper College into Trouble Creek before avoiding Chicken Out on the way to K-2, you'll soon realize that Eastern Oregon skiers are descendants of super humans. These hearty folks in the 1930s would climb 4,000 feet through knee-deep snow, on foot, to reach their favorite winter playground, only to unleash their bodies to the sometimes ruthless mercies of six-foot wooden planks.
